The Action for Orphans campaign mobilizes local resources to support vocational and technical training for orphaned and vulnerable youth from low-income households in Nyeri and neighboring counties. The initiative enables beneficiaries to enroll in technical institutions and structured apprenticeships, equipping them with practical, marketable skills. Upon completion of their training, graduates receive business start-up tool kits to help them launch sustainable micro-enterprises and transition into self-reliance. So far, over 50 youth have been supported through the program. The campaign seeks to continuously raise awareness on the challenges facing poor orphans and vulnerable youth, support their access to TVET and hands-on skills development, and provide mentorship to both trainees and caregivers. It also ensures provision of essential start-up tools that enable graduates to pursue self-employment, secure sustainable incomes, and contribute to their household and community well-being.
